Meet GIna

For much of my career, I watched people receive health recommendations without fully understanding the biology behind them.

They were told to lose weight, improve their blood sugar, lower their cholesterol, manage symptoms, or change their eating habits, but rarely taught how metabolism, nutrition, body composition, and physiology influence those outcomes.

That observation shaped my professional focus.

Today, my work centers on helping people better understand the science behind metabolic health, obesity, insulin resistance, PCOS, menopause, healthy aging, and nutrition.

I believe that health education is one of the most powerful tools available to improve decision-making and health literacy.

When people understand how the system works, they are better equipped to navigate the choices that affect their health.

understand the system

Understanding Comes Before Action

Health recommendations are often reduced to simple instructions:

  • Eat less.
  • Move more.
  • Lose weight.
  • Lower your cholesterol.
  • Improve your blood sugar.

But meaningful decisions become easier when people understand the biological processes behind those recommendations.

Obesity Is More Complex Than Willpower

Body weight is influenced by physiology, metabolism, body composition, environment, medication use, sleep, physical activity, food availability, and numerous other factors.

Reducing obesity to personal responsibility alone oversimplifies a complex condition.

Body Composition Matters

Health is influenced by more than the number on a scale.

Skeletal muscle, visceral fat, metabolic function, physical capacity, and overall body composition often provide a more complete picture of health than weight alone.

Metabolic Dysfunction Often Begins Long Before Diagnosis

Insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and other metabolic disturbances may develop years before diabetes or other chronic conditions are formally diagnosed.

Understanding these early changes creates opportunities for earlier intervention and improved health outcomes.

Medications Are Tools, Not Magic

Medications can play an important role in improving health outcomes and managing chronic disease.

At the same time, medications do not eliminate the value of understanding nutrition, metabolism, physical activity, sleep, and other factors that influence health.

Health Literacy Matters

People are more likely to make informed decisions when they understand how their bodies work.

Health education is not about creating perfection. It is about creating understanding.
